Stage 4. Membrane. 0.0001 microns. ‘Nanofiltration’ process that removes most water impurities down to one thousandth of a micron!
Needs previous filters so it doesn’t become damaged and blocked prematurely. RO membranes, like all filter media, have a finite capacity so will need changing every 6-12 months, depending on factors like your regional water feed, your daily water consumption and any pre-RO treatments that are installed, e.g. water softener.
